For Tutors

The tutors of CIREM courses are all postdoctoral researchers, who have experience and interest in teaching students research skills.

Tutors are expected to:

• Meet as a group to discuss and agree on how to monitor the progress of students.
• Where appropriate to the course and student, they will meet to assess the achievement of individual students.
• Advise on course content, mechanisms of supporting students and evaluation.

Tutors can contact students by:

• E mail
• Telephone
• One-to-one or group meetings

Meetings of students and their tutors
A meeting between students and their tutors will be arranged at the start of each course. This is to ensure that the mechanisms for supporting students are clearly understood.
